I don’t know why it’s suddenly so freezing cold again but here’s a fiery little Amber to bring some false semblance of warmth into our bones!

Do you ever smell a smell and it reminds you of something, so you then have to eat that thing? This morning, whilst sat at the local road works I got a massive whiff of Quavers and haven’t stopped thinking about them since. I’m off to find quavers. I think the smell was actually hot asphalt.

The Nebra Sky disc has been a big inspiration for my Celestial Relics collection - pieces for those drawn to history, mystery and unearthed wonders - little relics made to be worn and felt ✨

The Nebra Sky disc

Buried for Millenia, it was unearthed in Germany in the 90’s and is debated to be the oldest known map of the cosmos.

It evolved over four phases and was once considered a practical calendar with the latest iteration being considered as a ritual totem.

Turquoise; the perfect mixed metal partner.

Turquoise is formed when rain trickles down through the earth, on its way down it dissolves deposits of copper which over thousands of years reacts with volcanic and aluminium rich rock. The copper creates that distinctive blue and the veins are remnants of rock left during its formation.

Turquoise has been loved for thousands of years and some believe it is the Don of the healing stones - a master of communication, protection and emotional balance.

Historically, it has been used in jewellery as far back as Ancient Egypt and is still one of the most popular stone used today.

The spirals and stars are slightly raised on the bands, giving the rings a lovely smooth finish. If you’re anything like me, you’ll appreciate that tactile nature, which offers a little reminder to find strength and positivity when most needed.

This tiny collection is inspired by a recent trip to Greece - whilst wandering through all the little lanes and streets I’d come across little jewellery shops with tiny workshops set up inside them, just like in our little green shop.

One thing I noticed a lot was the use of mixed metals - silver and gold and brass alongside lilac amethyst and Larimar. Many pieces were embellished with small symbols, notably spirals, suns and stars.

Spirals feature consistently throughout Ancient Greek jewellery and can often be linked to movement and the cycles of nature; I felt at home amongst the ancient lost relic nature of the pieces and inspired to delve deeper into mixed metals and tiny embellishments to compliment my existing celestial relic collection.

The two sterling silver bands feature two teeny gold filled spirals. I made myself a promise not to buy any new gemstones until I have used what I already have but the Larimar and green serpentine hit the brief, I think!

For the earrings, I’ve used brass to make the starburst with all the other metal being sterling silver.

And the pendant, this little talismanic treasure features a gold filled spiral and a little North Star - a reminder to keep moving towards that goal, perhaps.

I hope you love them anyway, I am in full mixed metal mode now ✨

The woodland seasons provide a range of sustainable resources that are gathered using traditional methods and careful interaction with the natural environment.

Back into the swing of it after a quiet January with the @makerscornwall February challenge 🗓️.

Day one: hello!

I’m Vicky, one half of Wild Sage. Happiest on a soggy cliff edge, preferably in a gale.

This is Bran 🐕 Border Collie with Border Collie energy!
To tire him out we once walked the entire South West Coast Path — 400 miles in 2022, 230 in 2023. Best I’ve ever felt. I miss it daily.

Also Reg. Or Reginald. Or Roo. 🐈
17 years old, 7 house moves, the biggest whiskers I’ve known.

I once saw the Northern Lights from my camper van in Glencoe. Highly recommend ✨

Meet Gloria — my old Renault Master 🚐
We’ve made it to the Outer Hebrides but further afield plans are limited by my fear of toll booths on the wrong side 💀

I learnt silversmithing from The Mothership— the other half of Wild Sage.
My step-dad Malc helps with chunky rings and countertops and is integral to our carnage.

We have a little green shop in Porthleven 🌿
Sometimes people think I sell plants. Sometimes I wish I did. (Approx. 35 houseplants and counting.)

I like to make jewellery inspired by ancient relics — pieces that look like they’ve been unearthed after centuries underground.

My Nan was my legend 💚
Probably the funniest person I’ve known and was capable of making everything feel okay just by existing.

I get weirdly obsessed about hiking and camping gear - inflatable solar light? I’m in.

And finally — pancakes please 🥞

I’ve started the new year with a cold, which is pretty standard!

The little green shop in Porthleven is closed now until mid February so I’ve got six weeks of long dog walks, making new pieces and just having a day off.

Hibernating is my main aim for January 🦔 but I’m still making if anyone has any pieces they’d like to discuss 😊

Enjoy January, don’t push too hard, it’s a time for a little R&R, planning and just being ✨

I’ve started the new year with a cold, which is pretty standard!

The little green shop in Porthleven is closed now until mid February so I’ve got six weeks of long dog walks, making new pieces and just having a day off.

Hibernating is my main aim for January 🦔 but I’m still making if anyone has any pieces they’d like to discuss 😊

Enjoy January, don’t push too hard, it’s a time for a little R&R, planning and just being ✨

I’ve had a headache for a couple of days now and then remembered the super moon - I seem to get headaches around super full moons. Has anyone else noticed this?

I’m taking it as a sign though, from the moon, to stop a minute and release some of that busy Christmas tension 🌝
